Say Hello to the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, Pictures and Specs

5530xpressmusicbarsThis morning whilst we were sleeping, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic was launched. I finished off my exam and now I’m going to document about this 5800 baby version. For a cheaper price at 199 Euros you can get your hands on a scaled down version of the 5800. One significant difference in this 5530 XpressMusic phone is that the homescreen has a bar at the top for contacts and a bar at the bottom for 4 apps, something to come for the 5800? This phone also comes with a funky new set of headphones and some speakers on the face of the phone at the top and bottom.

You can check out pictures of the phone and technical specifications after the break. We will keep you updated on any news that we find out about this phone in the future so make sure you stay subscribed to our feeds. View our recent post on the 5530 XpressMusic videos.

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Specifications:

  • 2.9 inch touchscreen (640×360), 16 million colours
  • Symbian S60 5th edition
  • Accelerometer sensor, proximity sensor
  • No physical keys
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash
  • Bluetooth, WiFi, EDGE
  • XpressMusic music player (another phone for the “Comes with Music Service”)?
  • MicroSD card included (4GB)
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • No GPS on this device or UMTS/HSDPA
  • Five different colours to choose from

For the full in and out of the 5530 XpressMusic (lots of numbers), you can visit the Nokia specifications on the phone here.

The price of the phone is fully justified when the phone lacks GPS and UMTS/HSPDA. This phone is a slimmer and stripped down version of the Nokia 5800. We are expecting this phone to be completely free on mobile contracts and it will be released in the third quarter of 2009.

I like the look of this, will be popular with younger market… I do have a slight case of the “brace and bits” that the design of this device in my opinion seems of higher quality than my 5800 although I am aware that the trade off is against some functionallity. still it looks the bizz! Surely the homescreen can be aquired for 5800 device.

The design does have a slightly better look to it and I wish they would have put those headphones in with the 5800, they are actually ok! I’m wondering though, are they teasing 5800 users with this homescreen release? I’m emailing Nokia at the minute to find these details out.

cool stuff, just finished 6 hours of reformatting my 5800 again. for some reason some new music tracks only appear in the file manager and not the music library. Manually inputting playlists for over 2000 tracks is slooooow! (also several beers may have impeded my progress.:)

6 hours of reformatting, uh! That’s a strange bug. Lol, nothing wrong with a beer I guess, but 2000 tracks is going to take a while.

as for the headphones i use a pair of SE sports type with the nokia adaptor. only soloution i’ve come up with for active use, although it annoys me that im using SE with a Nokia device, (Yes I do have OCD):)

Lol, I have OCD to, you should see what I’m like with my 5800, cleaning it as if it were a baby, quite pathetic really lol! Must take care of gadgets though. I might have to buy some of these new headphones which come with the 5530, try to swap with someone ;)
