It seems that Ovi Store is starting to make some changes. We won’t speak too soon as this might not happen again for a while but Ovi Store has some fresh content on it. I checked the Ovi Store client this afternoon on my Nokia 5800 and I made some positives and negatives about the content I was beginning to see straight away. I checked the amount of items available earlier and it was 688, it’s now 802. So lets see what they’ve added…
New Wallpapers, including Christmas ones at £1.00 each?
Ok, why have they released this upon the Ovi world? This type of stuff just blocks up the system and drowns out all the applications and games we want to see. All these new wallpapers in recommended do not need to be there, seriously.
It’s coming to Summer and I’m seeing a ton of Christmas and winter wallpapers. What’s going on there? I am not paying £1.00 for some wallpapers, please let us know if you plan on buying these. I’m sure there are plenty of free alternatives. You can buy apps that are 1000x better than these wallpapers for £0.59.
New Games including Sims 3
The Sims 3 has recently been launched and it’s hitting the mobile platforms too, firstly the iPhone (App Store on June 2)and now we’re seeing it on the Ovi Store. I have no idea what it’s like on the 5800 as I’m not prepared to buy it with what I’m presented. We’ve said that before. I’m hoping it should not vary that much to the iPhone but with the quality of gaming we see on the iPhone, it’s not being bought for £4.00 quite yet. It’s surprising to see it at £4.00 because every app or game has mostly been more expensive on the Ovi Store compared to the Apple equivalent so a lot of people will most likely buy this game.
Alongside this game, there have also been other releases for games. You can find them in the games section on Ovi Store. Still no more free games though.

New Applications and Reduced Price tags
We also noticed some application additions and application price changes. Firstly, here’s a free app that most people will be looking at and that’s “Map My Tracks“. It’s an application that shares your position in real-time over services like Twitter, FriendFeed and Fire Eagle (personally have no clue what that is). Remember HappyWakeUp that was listed for over £40? It’s now £12.99, they have fixed that huge typo.

It’s hard sometimes to even list what is new and old, apps and games keep dissapearing and coming back… what is that about?
It’s positive to see more publishers being allowed to put their creation’s on the store so that we can have a regular fresh supply of content. Thank you Nokia and publishers but something tells me, no one is near happy yet.
