Its been almost a week since the Ovi Store launched and as of yet I am still to see any fresh content since the opening day. I don’t understand why this is the case seeing as reports before launch suggested the Store would be coming to us with over 20,000 applications. But this got me thinking, what sort of Apps do I want from the Ovi Store?
Bare in mind I am talking about App’s here rather than games. When it comes to applications I am someone that tends to prefer simple rather than complicated things. Therefore my prefered applications are those that deliver news and information/websites in simpler to use forms. For example, like Nokia’s widgets but those which don’t just open the web browser and direct you to a certain page. Â Widgets/App’s that utilise their own interfaces are what I want. Just like the iPhone’s Facebook application and recently launched Sky News App (below). These kind of things are what I would appreciate most and therefore would like companies such as Sky to release their own versions of these applications for Nokia, along with those “proper applications” such as Google Maps, ShoZu etc.
I would love to see these kind of simple, information based applications pop up soon. What is your opinion? What kind of apps are you looking for from the Ovi Store as it’s what we all want that matters.
