Are you one of those people that hate having to enter the *#0000# code every time you want to find some information about your device. You then have to type in *#06# to find out your IMEI number. Doing this takes quite a while but with a new widget I have found for the N97 and 5800, you can simply start up this application and all this information about your device will show straight away on one page. The DeviceInfoWidget was developed by Moubail and updates itself because of the widget’s simplicity. Read more about what it does after the break.

Here is what the widget displays when you load it up:
- IMEI number
- WLAN Mac address
- Phone model
- Firmware Version (notice my version 11 that I’m still on!)
- Manufacturer
- Product type
- Bluetooth status
- Vibration status
- Autolock status
- Autolock timeout
- Screensaver timeout
- Memory status (built-in, memory card, RAM)
- Auto checks updates to widget

The widget also has other features that are planned to be worked on, but I haven’t seen any activity on this widget in a while (according to their website, it was last updated in February). I think that it displays some important information but the collection of info like autolock status. I believe some of the stats could also be enhanced like the statistics for memory on the phone. Visual representation of these stats will make them much easier to read.
The widget doesn’t have any functions on it that allow you to just press and update the phone’s firmware for example. So you will still have to exit the application and enter *#0000# to update your phone’s firmware but if you just want to know what version you are running, your IMEI number and the things we listed above, then this application is very handy.
