For those of you who are regularly readers of NokiaApp you may have read my post last month of Google finally releasing a native YouTube app for S60. Now back then the application was fully compatible with S60V3 but did not work fully with the new touch interface of 5th edition. Today however, there is some good news for all you 5800 owners because a new update is available which enables the use of the search option.

The previous version did not bring up the on screen keyboard when it came to searching for clips but this new version 2.0.0(8) enables this. The only let down with this version is that you cannot do the usual things you can do on the desktop version such as signing into your account to rate, upload your video’s and other things.

If you wish to download this application direct your mobile browser to m.youtube.com and follow the on screen instructions.

You can check out my original review of this app here, and whilst your at it you should subscribe to our daily updated RSS feed.

  2. [...] The official YouTube application for Symbian devices has just received another update from V2.0.11 to V2.0.14. Reports are suggesting this build still doesn’t officially support S60V5 phones but you can still  install this version on your Nokia 5800 and use the application to view all videos, however there may be a few bugs. Direct your mobile browser to m.youtube.com to download the app straight to your phone. For the full details on the native YouTube client check out our earlier post here. [...]
